Crawling to a moment of clarity

10/07/2008

While enjoying the 4th of July weekend with my family I got to experience one of the most astounding things. My eight-month old daughter crawled for the first time. Watching her put one little hand down and then scooting her knee forward and then the other hand and knee repeating this until she had achieved her destination.

Just moments ago I had been thinking and maybe even stressing out about money and my career. But now I was overjoyed with what my little girl had achieved. This made me remember what’s important in life. It also made me think about how our finances and careers are a journey of little baby steps. It may take a while to achieve your goals but as long as you keep forward motion you will eventually get there.

So In conclusion do something every day to remind you of what life is about. Whether it’s kiss the face of a beautiful baby, embracing your spouse, or being in fellowship with loved ones. These things will grow you true riches.

Welcome to the Financial Journey Blog

10/07/2008

Welcome to the Financial Journey Blog. My purpose for starting this blog is to build a community of people with the goal of financial education, freedom and prosperity. I feel there is not enough education or attention given to finances today.

Looking back at my education in the American public school system and I don’t recall finances being a subject I studied. Well, I did learn how to balance a checkbook in high school but I didn’t learn how to get money into that checkbook. Do you see a problem here?

As an adult I see a lot of my peers spending money like it going out of style. Buying cars, homes, televisions, furniture, boats, etc, they cannot afford. This is why people end up with so much debt and struggle so hard to get ahead.

So, Lets kick the current mentality on finances and learn together how to build wealth and freedom. I will be addressing many financial issues facing people today through this blog, so stop back and check it out.
